Clipboard++ ("the extension") lets you send links, text, phone numbers, image URLs,
and other content from your browser to your paired mobile device, and to access
content sent from your device. This policy explains what data the extension handles
and how it is used.
Information We Handle
Paired device details. When you pair a device using a pairing
code, the extension stores an identifier, an access token, and the name you give
the browser/device. This is required to route content to the correct device.
Content you send or receive. Any clip you send (for example, a
page URL, selected text, a link, or an image URL) and any message you receive is
handled so it can be delivered and displayed. We do not store it beyond what is necessary for this purpose.
Active tab URL. When you open the popup and choose to send, the
extension reads the URL of the currently active tab solely to pre-fill the message with the current page URL.
It does not read tab contents in the background.
How Information Is Used
To pair your browser with your device and keep it paired.
To transmit the content you choose to send to your paired device.
To retrieve and display content sent to you from your device.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for
purposes unrelated to the functionality described above.
Where Information Is Stored
Locally / in your browser account. Device details and messages are
saved using Chrome's storage.sync API, which may sync this data across
browsers where you are signed in to the same profile.
On our server. To deliver content between your browser and your
device, data is transmitted to and processed by our backend at
clipboard.nicodo.net over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
Data Retention
Paired devices and messages remain until you remove a device or delete a message from
within the extension. Removing the extension clears the data it stored in your browser.
